SoMoCast S4E3: Iva Kutle Škrlec – Inside Hilton: how to manage a brand with 500,000 employees and 9,000 hotels

In the third episode of SoMoCast, we welcomed Iva Kutle Škrlec, Director of Destination Marketing for MEA at Hilton, who joined us from Dubai, where she has been living and working for almost 11 years.
Iva shared her journey from a chance start in marketing to success in global companies like Google and Hilton. She highlighted the importance of networking and described the challenges of relocating to Dubai, a market that is “at the same time very fast and very slow.”

She also emphasized how Hilton balances global standards with local specifics, contributing to the company’s success with over 500,000 employees across 9,000 hotels worldwide.
Finally, she offered advice for an international career: be bold and give it a try, even if you discover what’s not for you, you’ve still taken an important step forward.
